Healthcare in the Last Mile
For millions of people living in India's rural and tribal areas, a visit to the doctor is not a routine event — it is a significant, often unaffordable journey. Distance, cost, and lack of awareness combine to mean that conditions that are easily treated in urban centres can become life-altering in the countryside.
MCT's Health and Medical Outreach programme was established to bring quality healthcare directly to these communities.
Our Medical Camps
We organise regular free medical camps covering:
- Eye care — screenings, glasses distribution, and referrals for cataract surgery
- Dental care — checkups, extractions, and oral hygiene education
- Diabetes screening and management — early detection programmes that are saving lives
- General health consultations — addressing a wide range of common ailments
Each camp is staffed by qualified medical professionals who volunteer their time alongside our dedicated MCT team.
Nutrition for Children and Mothers
Alongside our curative camps, we run a nutrition programme targeting young children and lactating mothers — two of the most nutritionally vulnerable groups in rural communities. The programme distributes nutritious food packages and provides education on balanced diets using locally available ingredients.
The Numbers Tell a Story
In the past year alone, MCT medical camps have:
- Screened over 1,200 individuals for common health conditions
- Distributed spectacles to 180+ patients with vision impairment
- Identified and referred 60 individuals for cataract surgery
Join Our Mission
We are always looking for medical professionals willing to volunteer at our camps, as well as donors who can help fund medicines, equipment, and logistics. If your organisation would like to partner with us, we would love to hear from you.
